HubSpot permissions explained

Understand why Rankley requests HubSpot permissions and how they are used.

Overview

Rankley uses HubSpot permissions to connect your CRM, match records, and record AI Visibility audit activity on HubSpot contacts.

The exact permissions shown during the HubSpot connection flow may vary as Rankley adds new HubSpot features.

Why Rankley requests HubSpot permissions

Rankley requests permissions only for integration features that require access to HubSpot data or the ability to write supported activity back to HubSpot.

Common reasons include:

  • Reading company information for CRM matching

  • Reading contact information for audit/contact matching

  • Updating contact records when sync features are enabled

  • Recording AI Visibility audit activity on contact records

Contact permissions

Rankley may need contact permissions to identify or update the HubSpot contact associated with an AI Visibility audit submission.

This helps Rankley connect audit activity to the correct CRM record.

Company permissions

Rankley may use company information to help match HubSpot records and support the HubSpot CRM card experience.

Write permissions

Some Rankley sync features require write access so Rankley can record audit activity on HubSpot contacts.

This may include:

  • Audit activity

  • Report link

  • Score and status

  • Recommendations

  • Optional custom properties, when configured

Why you may need to reconnect HubSpot

If Rankley adds new HubSpot integration features, additional permissions may be required.

When this happens, Rankley may show a reconnect prompt in the Integrations area.

Reconnecting HubSpot allows your team to review and approve the updated permissions.

Does Rankley expose HubSpot tokens?

No. Rankley does not expose HubSpot OAuth tokens in the user interface or logs.

HubSpot access is managed through OAuth.

Can I disconnect HubSpot?

Yes. You can disconnect HubSpot from Rankley from the Integrations area.

Disconnecting stops new Rankley sync activity from being sent to HubSpot.

Future permissions

Rankley may request additional HubSpot permissions in the future as the integration evolves.

For example, structured HubSpot App Events are planned for a future version after Marketplace and App Events readiness and approval.

If new permissions are needed, Rankley will use a reconnect flow so your team can approve them.
