How to Find Your Google Maps URL for Rankley

Rankley uses your Google Maps URL to identify the correct business location for audits, reports, and location setup. This helps Rankley match the correct Google Business Profile and avoid pulling information from the wrong business listing.

What the correct URL looks like

A valid Google Maps URL usually includes:

/maps/place/

Example:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Your+Business+Name/@33.12345,-84.12345,...

The easiest way to get this URL is to open the business in Google Maps and copy the full URL from your browser address bar.

How to find your Google Maps URL on desktop

1. Search for the business on Google

Go to Google and search for the business name plus the city or state.

Example:

Business Name City State

2. Click the map preview

When the business appears in Google Search, click the small map preview in the business profile area.

This opens the full business listing in Google Maps.

Do not copy the regular Google Search URL yet.

3. Copy the Google Maps URL

Once the business opens in Google Maps, copy the full URL from your browser’s address bar.

The URL should usually include:

/maps/place/

4. Paste the URL into Rankley

Return to Rankley and paste the Google Maps URL into the Google Maps URL field.

Then click Find business.

How to get the URL on mobile

You can also find the Google Maps URL from the Google Maps mobile app.

  1. Open the Google Maps app.

  2. Search for the business.

  3. Tap the correct business listing.

  4. Tap Share.

  5. Tap Copy link.

  6. Paste the copied link into Rankley.

Mobile links may look shorter than desktop links, but they should still open the correct Google Maps business listing.

Why Rankley asks for this URL

Rankley uses the Google Maps URL to help detect:

  • Business name

  • Address

  • Website

  • Google Business Profile details

  • Primary business category

  • Location-specific audit data

This helps make sure your audits and reports are tied to the correct business location.

Troubleshooting

I copied the URL, but Rankley cannot find the business

Make sure the URL came from the Google Maps listing, not the regular Google Search results page.

A good URL usually contains:

/maps/place/

The wrong business is being found

Try searching again with the business name plus city and state.

Example:

Business Name + City + State

Then open the correct listing in Google Maps and copy that URL.

I cannot find the business on Google

If the business does not appear on Google Maps, click Enter details manually in Rankley and add the business information yourself.

You’re ready to continue

After you paste the Google Maps URL into Rankley and click Find business, Rankley will use that URL to identify the correct business location and continue the setup process.
